The Sue Hall Chapter of the National Art Honor Society is an honorary organization that promotes the visual arts in our school and community. Members are inducted each semester and selections are based on a 90 percent average in art classes, community service, excellent conduct and teacher recommendations. Sophomores through seniors are eligible. Freshman may be inducted at the end of their first year for the fall of their sophomore year. Community service, participation, good grades and good citizenship are required for continued membership.

 

Purpose of the Sue Hall Chapter of the National Art Honor Society

Ensure that those students who have shown outstanding ability in art are recognized.
Foster excellence and a dedicated spirit to the pursuit of art.
Further creative abilities and talents of the Society's members, as well as the school's entire student art enrollment.
Aid members in working toward the attainment of their highest potential in an art area.
Bring art to the attention of the school and community.
Increase an awareness of art in relation to other areas of school curriculum.
Further aesthetic awareness in all aspects of the school's total program.
 

Membership

Members in this chapter shall be based upon art scholarship, service and character.

• To be eligible for selection to membership in this chapter, the candidate must have been in attendance for a period equivalent to one semester in art in this school.
• Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be senior high school students and have a minimum art scholarship average of an A. This level of achievement shall remain fixed.(sophomore, junior, senior)
• Members may remain active during such time when there is no art on their class schedule.
• Members must complete 15 hours of community service related to art.

Qualifications

• AN "A" AVERAGE
• 2. 5 HOURS OF ART-RELATED COMMUNITY SERVICE
• 2 TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS (OTHER THAN ART)
