"El Dunque de Rivas" chapter of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica (SHH) is classified as a national and international academic honor society. Its purpose is to recognize high achievement in Spanish. Invitations are extended early in the spring semester. Official school transcripts may carry the SHH seal. There are numerous "becas y premios" available to eligible members.

To be in el Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, you must be have at least three years of Spanish. For each semester of Spanish 1 and 2 your average must be an A and a B or higher in Spanish 3. Also, there is a $5.00 fee each year for enrollment.

As the top students of Spanish, members tutor other students to help them excel in the language.
