PSAT
The PSAT is designed to predict SAT scores and is used by the National Merit Corporation to recognize top scoring junior students. The test is also used to select students for competition as National Merit Finalists. Although freshmen and sophomore students cannot qualify for National Merit standing until their junior year, the district provides this additional test taking opportunity in order that students can practice before their junior year. It is recommended that only freshmen taking Pre AP Math or Pre AP English take the PSAT during their 9th grade year.
Sample questions and more information about the PSAT is available at collegeboard.com
