Technology Internship Program
The Technology Internship
Program is a program that provides students with business/industry
experience as part of their high school curriculum. Qualified
students are exposed to a unique combination of classroom instruction
and placement in a technology work environment where they acquire
new information, concepts, techniques and procedures related to
career interest.
Students selected for the program spend the
first two weeks in a classroom orientation session to prepare them for entry
into their chosen internship field. Throughout the semester, students meet one
day a week with their coordinator to review progress, discuss problems and receive
related instruction. Participating business leaders share their ideas and insights
as well as a wealth of practical knowledge. Four days a week, students travel
to their training sites where they follow modified, on the job procedures carefully
designed by school and business sponsors to provide meaningful education experiences.
Students are required to submit work summaries and maintain a comprehensive
journal covering specific details of their training.
