In 1999, the GHS ecology teacher, Ms. Sherri Steward, and her students helped build a memorial garden on campus in honor of United States War Veterans.  GHS students researched 136 veterans who had died and had their names inscribed on bricks lining the walkway into the garden.  This class project has become a growing tribute to US war veterans dedicated to their courage and patriotism.
